Coastal topography: Concrete coasts

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to 1. identify and locate a stretch of UK coastline using a map or digital tool	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2. add the key place names to a relief map	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3. create a 3D or layered map showing the land heights, eg cliffs, hills, lowlands and sea depths for their chosen coastline	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
4. label at least three major landforms or coastal features on the map, eg headland, bay, spit, estuary, floodplain	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
5. research and show one area at risk from coastal erosion or flooding, and explain why it is at risk, eg soft rock, low-lying land, storms	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
6. mark where a coastal management or enhancement strategy has been used or could be used, eg groynes, managed retreat, eco-tiles and explain how it helps protect people and/or habitats	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
