In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. identify and explain the historical and cultural significance of the Midsommarstång, ie maypole and floral crowns in Nordic traditions

2. identify and describe how specific herbs were believed to gain magical healing properties and the power to ward off mischievous spirits only on Midsummer night, eg St. John’s Wort, fern

3. make a flower and foliage crown to wear
