Summer cultural celebrations of the world

Level: Entry Level

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will have	Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to 1. identify at least two different cultures that celebrate the the summer season, eg Scandinavian Midsommer, Japanese Obon, Korean Boryeong mud festival	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2. describe the main traditions, colours and symbols associated with at least two chosen celebrations	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3. practise at least one simple mindfulness technique to connect with the season of summer in their own way, eg planning and going on a picnic, creating a flower bouquet, observing pollinators in a meadow.	Summary sheet
