Structural engineering: The da Vinci bridge

1. describe why Leonardo da Vinci’s design was useful for the military and how the size of the sticks affects how far the bridge can reach

2. explain how gravity and friction hold the bridge together without using any glue, nails, or string

3. follow a step-by-step plan to build a bridge that is symmetrical, level, and strong enough to stand on its own using da Vinci’s design for inspiration
