Creating a book nook: Functional design

Level: Entry Level

In successfully completing this unit, the learner will haveEvidence needed

demonstrated the ability to

1. design two different 3D structures that maintains the aesthetic illusion of a book nook while incorporating a functional, concealed compartment for hidden objects

2. construct a book nook with a functional element using materials of their choice

3. decorate their completed book nook, eg with paint, stickers, decoupage

4. select at least three symbolic objects, eg a micro story, mini props to be hidden within their nook

5. justify the inclusion of the hidden objects and explain how these objects deepen the visual story of their nook verbally and/or in writing
