Timetables

Provisional timetable for summer 2027

The consultation period for the summer 2027 AS/A-level and GCSE provisional timetables will begin on Monday 2 February 2026 and will close on Friday 20 March 2026.

During this time, you’ll be able to view and download the provisional timetable on our website, and send any comments to timetables@aqa.org.uk

Please also share this with your teaching colleagues – it's important that senior leaders and Heads of Department also review where subjects fall in the timetables.
All feedback will be considered during our review and the final summer 2027 exam timetables will be published in early May. The JCQ will also publish a summary of all the feedback received and any changes made.

Any feedback received after the closing date cannot be included in the review of the draft dates.

Comments on the proposed timetables are sought from students, parents, teachers and exams officers, as well as any relevant professional bodies.

Confirmed timetables for November 2026 and January 2027

The confirmed November 2026 and January 2027 timetables are available to view and download on our website.

Collecting student performance evidence

We want to remind you to read Ofqual’s guidance to schools and colleges on collecting student performance evidence for general qualifications. The guidance asks that schools and colleges make sure that students sit mock exams in exam conditions before their formal exams, and that their papers are kept as evidence.

Ofqual's on screen assessment consultation

Ofqual wants to hear from you about the approach to regulating on-screen exams in GCSEs, AS and A-levels. Ofqual launched their consultation in December, and it builds on their joint research with the Department for Education. Ofqual said "This is about evolution, not revolution. It's about protecting the qualifications system that serves your students well, while carefully enabling innovation where the evidence supports it."

Have your say

As Exams Officers, you can help shape this – you understand the realities of exam delivery, know what is best for your learners, and you can see what works and what doesn't. Your responses will help to make sure that any changes serve students' interests, and are deliverable in schools and colleges.

You can read the full consultation for all the detail, and we’ve also published a news message. Make sure you have your say on the proposals, the consultation is open until Thursday 5 March 2026.
