Dale Bassett

Dale is responsible for AQA’s Assessment Reform programme, ensuring our qualifications continue to meet our charitable purpose and support learners effectively.
He rejoins AQA after serving as Director of Curriculum and Assessment at United Learning, England’s largest schools trust. Dale has previously held senior roles at AQA and chaired the board of OxfordAQA. Earlier in his career, he was Research Director at a Westminster think tank and worked as an adviser at the Cabinet Office.
Dale has advised Oxford University Press on curriculum and assessment and has served on the board of Ark Curriculum Plus. He is currently a trustee of the Greater Manchester Education Trust and was the founding chair of governors of a free school in London.
