Checking moderation outcomes

If a centre's marking has been inconsistent, this tool will let you check its marks and decide whether you need to consult your Team Leader or the AQA office about the possibility of requesting further work. Use this tool after you've marked the Stage 3 sample (not the sub-sample or Stage 2 sample).

2. Enter the centre marks and your marks in pairs.

  • Sampled candidates only. You don't need to enter marks of unsampled candidates.
  • Each mark must be between zero and the maximum mark for the component.
  • You must enter between 4 and 40 pairs of marks. If you have fewer than 40, leave the remaining boxes blank.
  • You can use the tab key to quickly move between the boxes.

3. Once you've filled everything in and pressed the Process button, the regression outcome will be:

  • Satisfactory: Take no special action. Send your marks to AQA as normal – do not request further work.
  • Unsatisfactory: Contact your Team Leader or the Moderation team, as advised at standardisation. It may be necessary to request the work of further candidates.

If you have any technical problems, email the Examiner Technical Contact Centre.
