Standard copy of marked paper (access to scripts)

You can request access to scripts from an original marked exam paper to use for your teaching and learning. Scripts show the candidate’s written answers and the examiner’s comments and assessments.

You can request an exam paper for:

  • GCSEs
  • AS and A-levels
  • AQA Certificates
  • Functional Skills
  • Applied Generals

Our 'access to scripts' service is not available for any digital media (audio/video) candidate work within a component.

Fees

There is no fee for this service.

How to make a request

  1. Fill in the student written consent form from JCQ’s post-results services page
  2. Log in to Centre Services and select ‘Post-exams’ and ‘Post-results services’

How long it takes

We aim to have the papers to you within one week in the majority of cases, but allow up to six weeks for them to arrive.

What happens next

We’ll email your school/college's exams officer when your standard copy of a marked paper is available on Centre Services. These can be found on the ‘View or cancel requests’ screen on Centre Services.

If there's a problem with the copies you receive, let us know within two weeks – we may not be able to help you after that.

Keeping scripts

Each April, all copies of marked scripts provided in the previous calendar year will be removed from Centre Services. These should be downloaded if records are needed for longer than this.
