Advanced Extension Awards (AEA) are reported on a two point scale: Merit or Distinction, of which Distinction is the higher

Grades for AEAs are issued on behalf of the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) awarding bodies: AQA, CEA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC.
