Diploma explanation of results
AQA and City & Guilds award a Diploma where a learner (student) has achieved the required components which are detailed on the transcript that accompanies this certificate.
Diploma grades
- A pass for Level 1 is indicated by one of three grades A*(a*), A(a), B(b) of which A*(a*) is highest and B(b) is the lowest.
- A pass for Level 2 is indicated by one of four grades A*(a*), A(a), B(b), C(c) of which A*(a*) is highest and C(c) is the lowest.
- A pass for Level 3 is indicated by one of six grades A*(a*), A(a), B(b), C(c), D(d), E(e) of which A*(a*) is highest and E(e) is the lowest
- Learners whose level of achievement is below the minimum judged to be of sufficient standard to be recorded on a certificate will receive no grade and a Diploma receiving no grade is not recorded on the certificate.
